Our first vintage of Pinot Noir comes from the region noted for the variety, Adelaide Hills.

Approximately 2 kilometres from the township of Woodside is the beautiful Tomich Vineyard, planted by Randal Tomich in 2008, where we also source our Pinot Grigio and Shiraz. Randal has planted several Burgundian clones of Pinot Noir and the soil, altitude and cooler climate are ideally suited to the variety; a north-facing block, long ripening period and pesticide and herbicide-free vineyard practices ensure outstanding fruit quality.

Hand-picked to preserve grape structure with 15% whole bunch, 85% crushed to open fermenters with 10 days skin contact, hand plunged and pressed to 30% new French Oak barriques, 70% older French oak for malolactic fermentation eight months maturation in the same oak results in a light-bodied, but intensely flavoured Pinot Noir that reflects its vineyard and region.

Bright ruby red in colour, spectacular lifted strawberry and floral aromatics, this Pinot Noir is true to style with abundant cherry, red berry fruits, fleshy mid-palate, weight and texture – judicious use of French oak provided structure and balanced tannins and acidity give the length of palate.

Pair with BBQ lamb chops, roast or Peking duck, gamey meats, mushroom risotto or even grilled tuna or salmon…
